A brand new day I read a blog this morning about having a good attitude and this is what was posted:

Your attitude can be based on the weather, the amount of traffic congestion, the way people treat you, or a whole lot of other things. Or, your attitude can be exactly what you choose for it to be. When you turn your attitude over to other people or to random circumstances, it’s going to be volatile, undependable and not very productive. By contrast, when you choose your own attitude, independent of what’s happening around you, then you set yourself up to make swift and positive progress. ~Ralph

Amen! This is a great quote and may help me with some of my emotional eating…

Yesterday, I had a really bag headache in the afternoon and went home early from work. I think it was a mixture of my allergies and the fact that I went to bed late and only got about 4.5 hours of sleep. What was I doing up so late? Watching television. nonetheless…something that I could have watched the next day. I have to make a effort to cut back on my viewing. One thing that I did watch was another Oprah weight loss show. I am doing much better because I actually watched it. Before, when I wasn’t dedicated to losing weight I would not watch her weight loss shows. I had no interest in them. But last night was truly inspirational. One of the women lost 540lbs! She says that she started losing weight when she got into blogging and interacting with people. A blog can be therapeutic I guess. Somewhat like a diary that is shared with the world. …a scary thought but a way to connect with a world outside your own nonetheless. I guess that’s one of the reasons that I’m here blogging now!I think that I am actually going to sign up for challenge. Should be fun!

I am proud because after I got about 6-7 hours of sleep I woke up and decided to stay on course with my new exercise . I am doing Leslie walking off the pounds six week program. This week is the mile a day week and I am working towards that. I did almost a mile the first day and a mile yesterday, which was my second day. I am also doing the Beck Diet Solution since its about making changes and that’s exactly what I need. Beck suggested making diet rules so here are four rules to start.
1. Limit or eliminate eating after 8:00. I know 8:00 is late but I sometimes don’t get home from work until after 7pm.

2. Limit or eliminate eating for dinner. Stick with a protein and a vegetable for dinner.

3. Limit or eliminate eating red meat. I still don’t eat much red meat. I find that beef especially leads to weight gain when I eat it. Lamb can be eaten twice a week at most.

4. Make a plan on what I’m going to eat the next day, every day. This has to be done even on weekends. If I don’t do this I will inevitable continue to gain weight.

Also, I woke up this morning and weighed myself. I was 222.5! A two pound loss over the last day. I know for a fact that I took in 1800 calories yesterday because I wrote down everything I ate. This has to be water weight since I have not been indulging in an inordinate amount of sweets.
