I am not a calorie counter for the most part.  I am mainly trying to tame the sugar beast within.  But last night I wanted a dessert and I didn’t know what to get.  I have told myself that I would stick with peanut M&M’s.  They are super low in calories as far as from the sugar so that is a great thing.  But I had my eye on one of my favorites - a box of powdered donuts.  So I thought, hm, how many calories are in there.  Well, turns out that there are 1200 calories in there.  I used to sit and eat a whole box of those, easily, in one sitting.  Then I thought, well, what about this small frozen cake over here?  Ah, 300 calories a slice and it was supposed to be broken up into six slices, so that would be 1800 calories in one sitting.

Well, that led me to thinking about when I eat at McDonalds and Jack in the Box and how many calories I eat from that.  Not to mention when I eat out and I consume things that I have no idea how many calories they have.

I think that this is simply an eye opener for me.  I am realising that I get most of my calories from sweets.  I drink a Starbucks drink that I have fallen in love with.  It is a decaf mocha venti with whole milk and extra extra whip cream.  So I went online to see how many calories are in it.  I think it was around 500.  This will be a learning experience.  I am interested to see what I do with what I am slowly learning.
