I joined this website a few days ago http://www.sparkpeople.com, It is a free online weight loss programme that encourages having a healthy lifestyle as opposed to dieting. It is all about motivation and has a large community of like minded people. You set your own goals and the website calculates how you should go about achieving it.

It gives you cardio and strength training plans and lets you customise what equipment you have access to (if any) and bases your plan around this. You also choose what sort of foods you will eat, ie. high protein, low fat, low sodium, vegetarian, etc. and comes up with a customisable meal plan designed to meet your calorie goals. You can even print off daily schedules and weekly shopping lists.

You can make your own members page (called a sparkpage) where you can share your progress with other members and add photos and blog postings. There are also teams you can join where people with similar goals and interests can motivate each other.

When I signed up for it I read that it was free, but I suspected that after creating an account I would be prompted to upgrade to a premium membership or something like that, for a fee. I was surprised to find that they never ask for money at all.

Hopefully this helps me to stay motivated in achieving my fitness goals.
