Buy one or more of our comprehensive-but-readable reports on the major Trends in eHealth. eHealth lost its way in 2006-07. PHR platforms failed to inspire; trial did not lead to adoption. Growth of the bedrock offering, News/Search, was just 12% per year. But as 2007 ended and 2008 began, growth has resumed, at 20%+ per year. PHR is finally getting traction, thanks in no small part to the entry of big brands. EMR is seeing new growth from numerous SaaS offerings. We’re even seeing the very early signs of a true Digital Home Health phenomenon. But make no mistake– the engine pulling the eHealth train today is what we call . It was only the patients and their families that eHealth forgot, and their endemic need to connect with each other online, and with experts who make physical distances disappear, and increase immediacy by 10x. Read our report on Trend #7 for the details, and in our SPOTLIGHT REPORT on eHealth we project the COMMUNITY segment in detail (hint: it’s all ad-monetized). What should the PHR platform players do? Run-not-walk to ensure that their offerings are not just mind-numbing litanies of test results and trends, but rather a way to guide patients to the comfort that comes from getting … and giving … help. Read more in our 150-page SPOTLIGHT REPORT, updated each month. We carve out four discrete segments in , and tell you what’s happening, how and why, including detailed revenue projections: NOTE: We’re marketintellnow on all the IM services, including Skype and Tag: sparkpeople |
