My Top 3

I love my bike! Here it is in it’s new home on the porch. I put a plank of wood over the stairs to use as a ramp to take it down and push it (75 pounds + whew!) back up. It’s gotten much colder but I am still managing to take the bike in regularly to school. It helps me get in enough exercise too, which is awesome. I’ve still never quite achieved my weight loss goals, though I got within 2 pounds of my final goal this past summer. I don’t need to lose more, I’m just working on being firm and fit and functional so I can go do all that crazy stuff I like to do (and look good doing it). Like whitewater, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, etc. This time around working on it I’ve been eating 6 small meals a day, pumping up the protein, making sure I take in enough but not too many calories, and trying to get cardio in 3x a week, strength training in 3x a week, and yoga in at least once a week (on my Wii Fit!) . They’ve just released a new fitness game for the Wii from Jillian Michael’s (of Biggest Loser fame) that I’d love to try sometime. If anyone wants to join in on this look me up on Sparkpeople! It’s such a great and FREE program!

Here is an absolutely adorable photo of my Leia laying in the window on a lovely fall afternoon. I haven’t put up many photos of the kitties, so I just wanted to share. It’s one of the clearest ones I’ve ever taken of her face, she hates having her photo taken. Such a princess! I got some great ones of her lionpaws too, hehe. She was so happy to be lying in the sun she let me do what I wanted all around her.

Things that made my weekend:
1) Happy hour on Friday night that involved arm wrestling, thumb wrestling, a local band named Soulution, screwdrivers, a toy stegosaurus skeleton I got to take home, and finally a cake eating contest
2) Sleep, sleep, and lots of sleep
3) Being there for someone when they need you.
4) Attempting to do volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, not my fault they didn’t have work for our group when we planned this months in advance!
5) Joining Twitter to see what my Average Goddess buddy is up to more often.
6) Hiked last weekend, went to the park and played on the swings this weekend.
7) Phone calls about my thesis from my committee, just to bounce ideas around. Seriously, I love great minds!
8) Seeing that Dr. Pury, one of my thesis committee members, is quoted in Self in the Happiness section! They were looking at courage, one of her favorite research areas. Very cool.
